“Zaid Hilal speaks about the concept of ‘Promise’ in the artistic title, saying: ‘It is a promise to myself to present work that enriches folklore, and in doing so, to undermine the promise of the British (Balfour).’ He continues that the project sheds light on the Palestinian cause by presenting traditional songs that remain historically present and deeply intertwined with our current reality, alongside new songs that carry the musical identity of Palestine.”
